Step 1 — Install RustDesk (free)

RustDesk is a free, open-source remote desktop tool. Download and run it (no installation needed):

Step 2 — Read your RustDesk credentials to the tech

When RustDesk is open, you'll see two things in the big white box on the left:

  • Your ID — a 9-digit number
  • Your Password — a 6+ character temporary password

Either read both to the tech, or type them here so the tech sees them in real time:

✓ Credentials sent. The tech will connect to your computer shortly.

Step 3 — Wait for the tech to connect

When the tech connects, RustDesk on your computer will ask you to Accept the connection. Click Accept.

🔗 Tech Connected

The technician is now connected to your computer. Stay on the phone with them — they may ask you questions while they work.

⚠️ Watch your screen. You'll see the tech's mouse moving. You can take back control at any time by closing RustDesk.
