Step 1 β€” Install RustDesk (free)

RustDesk is a free, open-source remote desktop tool. Download and run it (no installation needed):

Step 2 β€” Read your RustDesk credentials to the tech

When RustDesk is open, you'll see two things in the big white box on the left:

  • Your ID β€” a 9-digit number
  • Your Password β€” a 6+ character temporary password

Either read both to the tech, or type them here so the tech sees them in real time:

Step 3 β€” Wait for the tech to connect

When the tech connects, RustDesk on your computer will ask you to Accept the connection. Click Accept.

The technician is now connected to your computer. Stay on the phone with them β€” they may ask you questions while they work.

⚠️ Watch your screen. You'll see the tech's mouse moving. You can take back control at any time by closing RustDesk.
